Biography
Merran Hergert is a litigation lawyer and associate at McEwan Partners.
Merran maintains a general civil litigation practice with a focus on public law. She has appeared at all levels of court in British Columbia and in front of various administrative tribunals.
Before becoming a lawyer, Merran worked in the field of intergovernmental relations, and her interest in the public law dimensions of that work motivated her to attend law school. During law school, Merran acted as a research assistant for two constitutional law scholars.
Merran completed her articles with the now Honourable Justice Latimer, K.C., focusing on administrative, constitutional and criminal law. She went on to clerk for six justices of the Supreme Court of British Columbia. Merran was an associate with Sean Hern Law before it merged with McEwan Partners in May 2026.
