Biography
Sydney has a broad general civil litigation practice, applying a passion for advocacy and a track record of academic success. She has experience in a range of commercial and administrative law matters.
Sydney has appeared as counsel before the Supreme Court of British Columbia and the British Columbia Court of Appeal. She is acutely attuned to the needs of clients, and has worked extensively with clients and witnesses on sensitive legal issues. Sydney has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in Canada on its 2025 Ones to Watch list as a leading next generation lawyer in Corporate and Commercial Litigation.
Sydney graduated from the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia in 2020, where she received an award for the highest standing in Insurance Law, as well as a Dean’s Scholarship for academic achievement.
She summered and articled with a leading national firm where she worked on significant commercial litigation files, prepared materials for the BC Supreme Court, and drafted factums for the Court of Appeal. She has also worked in private business as the Chief of Operations for a local plant-based food start-up, where she engaged with clients, established business partnerships, and negotiated contracts.
Sydney holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Victoria. She graduated with Highest Distinction and was a Presidential Scholarship and Dean’s List recipient every year. She had the highest standing in psychology for three consecutive years and received a Letter of Commendation for Outstanding Performance in Mathematics and Statistics.
Sydney was a member of the British Columbia provincial debate team from 2009 to 2011, and a member of the province’s development team for cross-country skiing from 2008 to 2011.
