Emily is ranked by Chambers Canada in Litigation, General Commercial, listed as a Top 100 Women in Litigation by Benchmark Litigation, and a Next Generation Partner by Legal 500. In addition to her general civil litigation and administrative practice, Emily has advised and represented clients involved in various regulated industries including securities, pharmaceuticals, and energy. Her mediation and arbitration experience includes both domestic and international commercial matters on a range of issues. She attended the University of Toronto Law School, is a former clerk of the British Columbia Supreme Court and was called to the bar of Ontario in 2009 where she practiced at Torys LLP. Since being called to the bar in BC in 2012, Emily practiced at Hunter Litigation Chambers before becoming one of the founding members of McEwan Partners in September 2017.
Arden Beddoes began his professional career as an investment banker in New York before attending University of Toronto Law School. He clerked for judges on the Commercial List at the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, was called to the bar in Ontario in 2012 and practiced at Lax O’Sullivan Lisus Gottlieb LLP. Called to the bar of British Columbia in 2015, he practiced at Farris Vaughan Wills & Murphy LLP and Arvay Finlay LLP, before establishing Beddoes Litigation which merged with McEwan Partners in November 2024. Arden is recognized by The Best Lawyers in Canada™ as a leading lawyer for corporate and commercial litigation. In 2024, he was recognized as an Emerging Talent Litigator of the Year at the Benchmark Litigation Canada Awards and is ranked as a Litigation Star. Arden was also listed in the Lexpert 2022 Special Edition for Litigation, and has been recognized by Lexpert as a “leading lawyer to watch” for commercial litigation.
