Law Society of Alberta v. Madu, 2024 ABLS 20

Ken McEwan and Emma Christian acted on behalf of the Law Society of Alberta in a multi-day disciplinary hearing regarding a citation issued against former Alberta Minister of Justice and Solicitor General, Kelechi Madu, K.C., concerning a call Madu made to the Chief of the Edmonton Police Service after he was stopped and issued a ticket for distracted driving in March 2021. The citation alleged that Madu undermined respect for the administration of justice by making the call, and that such conduct was worthy of sanction. The citation was found to have been proven.
