Appeal in Vancouver Temporary Housing Case

A citizens’ group concerned with the City’s processes in making important zoning changes has retained McEwan Partners (Ken McEwan, K.C. and Eileen Patel) to challenge a City of Vancouver by-law allowing for temporary modular housing in various districts across the City.  The case raises important issues of municipal law, including the prerequisites for making changes to land use in the City, and the requirements of public notice with respect to public notice of those changes.  An expedited appeal is being heard on February 28th, 2018.
