Biography
Ben Roizes maintains a broad litigation practice. Prior to joining McEwan Partners, he practiced tax litigation with the Department of Justice Canada. In this role, he frequently appeared as counsel before the Tax Court of Canada and the Federal Court.
Ben earned his law degree from the University of New Brunswick, where he was a Dean’s List student. He was also a member of the moot team that reached the semifinals of the Donald G.H. Bowman Tax Moot. Throughout law school, Ben held various research and teaching assistant roles. Following graduation, he articled with a full-service law firm in New Brunswick before being called to the New Brunswick bar in 2023. Ben then completed a clerkship at the Federal Court in Ottawa for the Honourable Madame Justice Elizabeth Heneghan before moving to Vancouver in 2024 and being admitted to the British Columbia bar.
Prior to law school, Ben obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree with a major in Finance from Acadia University. He was a student athlete on the varsity football team while at Acadia, earning the distinction of Academic All-Canadian.
